Winemakers & accolades

We started off intoxicated by the idea that there would be golf courses named after Syrah. Syrah was going to be the next big thing. In those early days we were it. Our efforts were thwarted when the rest of the state joined planting Syrah in all the wrong places. Wine from these sites were insipid and indistinguishable, thus ending Syrah’s reign before it began. Fast forward 20 years, the wine world has discovered that Syrah grown in a cool climate is worth a damn! Las Madres is the sweet spot of cool climates, the Sonoma Carneros.
